Overview

DRPT’s budget is updated annually by fiscal year, beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30. DRPT reports actual results in a quarterly financial report. DRPT funds projects through grants using an applications-based process. All of DRPT’s funding and grants are detailed in the Six-Year Improvement Program.

Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP)
The SYIP includes funding for DRPT and VDOT, and is approved annually by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB).

While a six-year projection of revenues available for allocation is included in the SYIP, the actual allocations of these revenues is generally done on an annual basis to individual grantees.
